Wynands, Muriel (Burns) of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital , on Friday, July 20th, 2012,  surrounded by her loving family, in her 90th year. Dearly loved wife of Martin Wynands and the late Harold Burns and loved mother of James (Shirley) Burns, Sheila (Barry) McCuskier, Terrance (Georgina) Burns, Thomas (Carolyn) Burns, Jack (Debbie) Burns and Beverly Burns and step-mother of Inek Anderson.  Dearly loved grandmother of David (Terri) Burns, Shawn Burns, Kathy (Mark) Liznick, Jennifer Burns, Ralph (Theresa) Burns, Valerie (Markus) Schoger, Gregory (Geraldine) Burns, Jeremy (Evelyn) Burns, Katie (Tom) Parker and Andrew Burns (fiancée Danielle North) and step-grandmother of Andrew Goodale. Dear sister of Madeline Macpherson (late Archie), Dorothy (Bill) Barry, Kay Dessaules(late Uto), Charlotte Protota ( late Charles),  and Carol (Bradley) Peever. Predeceased by 3 brothers Lorne Quirk, Jack Quirk ( late Shirley) , Melvin Robb and Robert Robb and by 2 sisters Mary Rayworth ( late Charles) and Margaret Bremner (late Charlie). Sadly missed by 19 great grandchildren,  a number of nieces and nephews and brother and sister-in-laws in HollandMuriel was born in  Ottawa on August 19th, 1922, the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen Quirk and step-daughter of James Robb. She formerly lived in Timmins and London.  Muriel was retired after 25 years  from Sears Canada. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church, the Catholic Women’s League and the Port Stanley Legion, Branch 410.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St. St. Thomas until   Wednesday  morning  and then to St. Anne’s Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at   11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
