Passed away peacefully at his home in Petrolia on Thursday, January 3, 2013.  ART WOODCOCK, 96 years, was of Petrolia.  Art was the loving husband of the late Lillian (nee McDonald) (1977).  He was a loved father Merilynne Ayrheart of Ridgetown, Judy and  John Lessels of Sarnia, and Carol and the late Peter Salisbury of Petrolia.   Art was a grandfather to Lisa and Leonard Williams, Leeann and Don Adams, Dawn and Mike Braithwaite, Deanna Barnes, Jason and Trish Salisbury, Carla and Rob Dunn, Paul and Kirstin Salisbury, Jodi and Bobby Huckle, and seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.   He is also survived by his sister Nora Mangleson of Duncan, B.C. and is predeceased by brother Harold and sisters Barbara, Helen, and Gladys.   Special uncle “Chuck” to several nieces and nephews.  Art served his country during World War II with the Perth Regiment of the Canadian Army.  Art also was actively involved as coach for numerous years with Petrolia Minor Hockey, and curled and golfed regularly Heritage Heights until his mid nineties.  Visitors will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia where a funeral service will held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.  The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 216 will conduct a memorial service Monday at 5:45 p.m.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Sarnia and District Humane Society and St. Josephs Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton.   Memories, pictures, and condolences may shared on-line at www.needhamjay.com.
