Born and raised in Calgary, son of George and Vera, beloved husband of Ruth (Peddie), passed away March 1, 2013 at the age of 77.  Loving father of two sons; Paul (Shareen) and Mark (Marilyn), and three daughters; Dawn (Derek), Tanis and Colleen.  Blessed grandfather to Taisto, Luke, Alyshia, Sara, Tyler, Jenni, Trevor (Michelle/ great grandfather to Bo), Bradley, Cole, Kelson, Liam.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his brother Terry (April) and sister Lynne (Dave), brother in-law Don (Lynn), sister in-law Mavis, nieces, nephews and friends from across Canada “sea to sea to shining sea”.  Ron was an ordained Presbyterian Minister who dedicated the majority of his working years to the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs and later the Department of Veterans Affairs as the Regional Director General, Atlantic Region.  He spent his leisure time with his wife celebrating nature and enjoying all that Canada’s wilderness has to offer. Ron was an avid and passionate rock hunter, a hobby that took him and Ruth on many wonderful adventures around the world.  Cremation has taken place.  A worship service in his memory will take place at Laurel Lea- St. Mathew’s Presbyterian Church in Sarnia on March 5, 2013.  Visitation at the church between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. followed by a worship service then light lunch.
