A resident of Leamington, Esther Zimmermann passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. She was born in Leamington and was the daughter of the late Peter Bartel and Erna Bartel (nee Klassen). Daughter in-law of the late Karl Zimmermann and Mary Zimmermann. Loving wife of Tony Zimmermann for twenty years. Step-mother to Stephen, David and Mike Zimmermann. Dear sister to the late Karl Bartel and his wife Lorraine, Dave and Vicki Bartel, Walter & Irma Bartel, twin brother Ed Bartel, Diane Bartel, Martha & Harold Warkentin, Ruth & Pete Unrau. Esther will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased also by her sister Margaret Bartel. Esther was a proud former employee of the Leamington Mennonite Home. She will be forever remembered by her family for her love of reading, long walks, her love for all animals and her unique sense of humour. Born on August 16, 1932. Passed away peacefully in the arms of her Lord at Leamington District Memorial Hospital on September 25, 2014 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Henry Peter Willms (1967), baby boy Gregory (1958) and her parents Nicolas and Agatha Unger. Loving mother to Lucille “Lucy” and John Isley, Loretta “Lori” and Lance Judd, Steve and Lisa Willms and Nancy and Raoul Morin. Cherished “Gramma” of Mary Ann Raffoul (Michael), Matthew Isley (Andrea), Luke Judd (April), Brittany Willms (Sheldon), Marissa Willms (Derek), Jennifer Morin (Eric), Kimberly Morin, Matthew Morin and Abbey Morin. Loving grandfather to Ricky and Jamie-Lynne. Dear son of the late Andre Blais, survived by Barbara and Phil Labute. Dear brother to Wayne (Pam), Janine (Wayne) Poupard, Chris (Lisa), and Kelly (Tim) White. Son in-law to the late Alvin (Toto) and Dolores Pitre, brother in-law to Sandra (Randy) Dame, Doug (Sharon) Pitre, Juanita (Rick) Chittle, Cheryl (Randy) Coomber and Shawn (Jeanine) Pitre. Danny will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as his fury companion Tyson. Danny was a member of the slo-pitch community especially the Windsor Chiefs. Passed away peacefully on September 19th, 2014 at the age of 59 years surrounded by family after a long and courageous journey with cancer. Loving husband to Brenda. Loving father to Alaina, Terry (Ashley), and Jenny (Robbie). Loving son to Joyce Browning and the late Terry Delaney (1980). Loving son-in-law to the late Charlie and Florence. Loving brother to Rick, Tad (Susan), and David (Paula). Chuck will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Chuck was a coach and convener for Windsor Minor Hockey Association. He coached baseball with Windsor West and Riverside. He was a long standing member for the Goodfellows, a meat cutter for Dominion Stores, and retired from Caesars Casino Windsor. Passed away suddenly at her home on September 18, 2014 with her companion David Aguilar at her side, at the young age of 62 years. Cherished mother of Leessa and husband Larry Giacalone, Joe Myers, Jenn and husband Aaron Kogon, Keith Myers and Shayne Cossarini. Much loved Grand ma ma of Larry Jr., Anthony, Amber, Jasmyn and Jordan. Will also be missed by her fur grandchildren Hunter, Bailey, BoBo, Frankie and Bayne. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Peter and Margaret Dearby and by her brother Paul, and sisters Mary and Jean. Beloved husband to Antonietta (nee Tedesco) with whom he spent 77 wonderful years. Loving father to Maria Lopez (late Felice)(1995), Isabella Barile (late Francesco)(2012), and Joe Bonasso (late Rosemary)(2012). Dear grandfather to Rosemary (Mario Migliarese), John Lopez (Lisa), Sam Lopez (Jackie), Joe Lopez (Cheri), Tony Barile (Rose), Sam Barile, Joe Barile (Maria), Sabrina (Dylan Etue), and Samuel Bonasso (friend Jocelyn Aversa). Dear great-grandfather to 17. Dear brother to Antonietta Marazita (late Giuseppe). Brother-in-law to Maria & late husband Antonio Campanaro, late Giuseppe & Angela Tedesco, late Angela & Frank Mancina. Sam will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States and Italy. Sam retired from the Public Works department with the City of Windsor in 1978. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on September 19, 2014 at WRH, Ouellette Campus at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of John Fred Tomko (July 29, 2014), with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage. Loving mother to Michael (2011), Nancy Tomko and John Barnes, Brian Tomko and Shelley Briden, Lisa Tomko and Bill Labadie. Cherished grandmother to Ben and Micheal, and great-grandmother to Meila, Lucas and Ruby. Predeceased by parents Norman and Clara Landry and siblings Loretta, Leo, Bernard and Paul. Survived by brothers Roger, Ray; all in-laws and their families. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alice retired from the former Windsor Motor Lamp after many years of dedicated service. She was a woman of great faith who was strongly devoted to her family. Alice was a member of Our Lady of the Atonement Church and the Catholic Women’s League. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at WRH, Ouellette Campus for their compassionate care provided to our mother. According to Alice’s wishes cremation has taken place.
