WEB_Browlie MetaPeacefully on February 11, 2013 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital at the age of 86, with her daughter holding her hand. Predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Prof. J. Maxwell Brownlie (2007). Survived by daughter Heather, son Ian and wife Mary. Cherished Grandma of Dale, Leah and Cole. Dear sister of Anna Arner and her late husband Arthur. She will be missed by her 10 nieces and nephews. Meta was a graduate of Windsor Business College. Her first job was packaging potato chips in a factory at the corner of Gladstone and Lincoln. She pursued a successful career as an administrative assistant in charge of the stenographic pool at Sterling Products and later as administrative assistant to the President of Motorola Products. Her early working life was primarily in Montreal before returning to Windsor in 1958 with Max. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years and enjoyed a good party with “the girls”, drives, visits to Troy Michigan and a good laugh. Meta had an infectious smile. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and also a fabulous cook and sewer in her day. The family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors from Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, Devonshire Retirement Home, Malden Park and the Rose Garden Villa Physical Rehab Unit who helped Meta throughout the past year. It is with great sadness that the family of Pia Rossi announces her passing on the morning of February 9, 2013 at Leamington District Memorial Hospital, peacefully with her loving family by her side. She will be missed by many friends and family both in Canada and in her native Finland. Pia was an exceptional woman whose kindness and generosity left its mark on everyone she met. She is survived by her daughter, Leena Frost and her husband Jack Frost, her two grandsons Christopher Marentette and Nathan Marentette and their wives Julie Marentette and Jennifer Cincurak, and her seven great grandchildren, Zoe, Noah, Kaija, Theaden, Genevieve, Huxley, and Keaton (and puppy, Lucy).  She is at peace and now joins her husband, Pekka (Peter) and her son, Peter to continue their journey as it should be, together.  A Celebration of Memories will be held at Oxley Estate Winery, 533 County Rd. 50, Harrow, Ontario, 519-738-3264 on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. All are welcome to join in our reflection of her life. Carol passed away the Metropolitan Hospital on Feb. 8, 2013 in Windsor, Ontario.Born in Halifax, N.S. on July 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Briand) Leeds. Carol and Bill have made Windsor their home since 1969. She was retired from the A&P Stores where she had worked for many years. Carol’s passions were her garden which gave her the greatest pleasure, and shopping for bargains with her dear friend Sue. But first and foremost was her love of family…which was the most important part of her life. She was a loving, caring and generous woman who would always put the happiness and needs of others before her own. Carol was affectionately known as “Mama Stoth”. She is survived by her husband William (Bill), sons; Shawn (Louise) and Jason (Deb), granddaughter Brielle, all of Windsor. Her N.S. family, Sisters Donna O’Neill (Frank), Jeanette Leeds; brothers Ricky and Robert Leeds; special nieces Cheryl, Nicole and Natasha as well as nephews Phil and Ryan. 90 years. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our family patriarch on February 8, 2013 at Windsor Regional, Met campus, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Lina (DeBenedetti) with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Adored Papa of daughter Lidia and son in-law Mario Mancini. Proud Nonno of Lisa (Frank) Polidori, and Paul (Marija) Mancini. Much loved Bisnonno of his precious treasures; Ryan, Jason, Anthony and Adriana. Joe was born in Ceprano, Frosinone, Italy on January 8, 1923 to the late Francesco and Rosa Rotondi. Dear brother of Teresa (2009) and late husband Cataldo Carducci (Italy), Maria (2011) and her late husband Arduino Vona (Italy), Liliana and her late husband Rocco Gallina, Loreta and her husband Guerrino Pullo, Sante (1991) and his wife Amelia, and Mario (1972) and his wife Helen. Beloved son-in-law of the late Pasquale and Vittoria DeBenedetti of Italy. Dear brother in-law of Francesca and her late husband Giuseppe D’Amico (Italy). Special friend and brother in-law of Joe and Rose DeBenedetti. Beloved “Zio Joe” of many nieces and nephews in Windsor, Michigan and Italy. Joe was a devoted employee of The City of Windsor, Public Works Department, until his retirement in 1989. Joe was an original member of the Ciociaro Club where he spent countless volunteer hours. He helped with the building of the Madonna di Canneto Chapel, and held the position of Sargeant at Arms for many years. Joe played music with the Ciociaro Folklore Group where he made many lasting friendships and travelled to many festivals in Canada, USA, and Italy. Joe learned to play the organetto at a very young age and was the happiest playing music for his family and friends. He thrived while working in his abundant garden and sharing his bounty with others. Many happy times were shared with his dear neighbours, Mike and Linda Polsinelli. Peacefully surrounded by his family on February 8, 2013 at 43 years of age. Beloved son of Petar and Mara Mitrovski. Survived by his siblings; Bisa and husband Rick Garel, Zoran and wife Maggie. Uncle of Frankie, Sarah, Natalie and Alexander. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Zlatko was a Master Carpenter who loved his trade and the people he worked with. Loving husband and best friend of 23 years to Barbara (nee Skeggs, Lucier). Beloved father of Nancy & Steve Warner, Ted & Debbie Proctor, Jim and Lori Proctor. Dear step-father of Jason & Sara Lucier and Jennifer & Brian Boksa. Loved grandfather of Christopher & Gloria, Timothy, Laura, Lisa, Daniel, Carolyn and Lydia Proctor. Cherished step-grandfather of Devon, Jacob, Joshua and Madelyn Lucier. Fun-loving step-grandfather to Grace and Andrew Boksa. Predeceased by brother Robert Proctor. Jack will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack has been one of the original owners of Rochester Place Golf and Camping Resort for 37 years.  He loved building Rochester Place golf course alongside his partners and  enjoyed sharing rounds of golf with everyone. Jack will be fondly remembered by his wonderful partners of many years, their spouses and his countless friends. Jack was known for his passion for competitive curling and was past president of the Windsor Curling Club and the Windsor Curling Club Seniors Association at Roseland Golf & Country Club. Jack was an insurance adjuster for 27 years and worked in a law firm as an insurance specialist for 10 years. Jack had a gift for striking conversation with anyone he met, hearing their story and sharing common points of interest. Jack loved to travel, plan the “details” of each trip and share the stories of these travels. WEB_Greenwood_GabrielleBorn August 13, 2003.  Tragically taken from us in a car accident on January 31, 2013.  Daughter of Danielle (Talbot) and husband Brian Blake, Glen Greenwood and wife Kimberly Barrett.  Sister of Hannah, Emily and Aidan.  Precious Granddaughter of Gary and Kathy Talbot, Patrick and Pauline Greenwood, Alan and Rosemary Barrett.  Great-granddaughter to Madeline Talbot and Mary Jane Hamlin.  Goddaughter of Linda and Ryan Greenwood.  Adored by many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Gabi was a grade four student at Ecole Saint-Jean-Baptiste and will be missed by her friends and classmates.  She was a member of the E.C.D.I. Competitive Dance Team and loved to perform.  Gabi for her 9 years, radiated what it takes some a lifetime…happiness, beauty inside and out, the ability to make anyone around her smile, and to love unconditionally.  In kindness, donations in Gabi’s name to W.E. Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2013 at the age of 61 years.  Beloved husband of Jeanine LaPointe.  Loving father of Laura Schlinker (Darryl) of Calgary and Kerry McPhedran of Windsor. Dear grandfather of Alyssa, Megan, Brianna, Camryn and Wyatt. Loved son of Don Delaurier and late Isabelle and late step mother Rachel Delaurier.  Loving son in law of Ray and Rose Durocher. Cherished brother of Jean Cipkar (George) of Harrow, Shirley Ebert (late Karl), Bruce Delaurier (Christine) of Belle River and David Delaurier (Anna) of Belle River.  Predeceased by brother Donald Delaurier (Eileen) of Windsor.  Will be missed by many nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to Ken’s friend Dean for all his care and friendship. Thank you to the Staff at Sun Parlor Home for their outstanding care given to Ken during his illness. Ken was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, hunting and his claim to fame was moose hunting in Kenora.  He loved all sports and was a New York Yankees and Montreal Canadiens fan. Passed away suddenly Bretton February 4, 2013 at the age of 67 years.  Devoted husband of Michelle (nee Desjarlais).  Beloved father of Joelle Deslippe, Denise Brett (Liorkis) and Jennifer Beaubien (David).  Cherished grandfather of Holly, Blake and Olivia.  Loving brother of late Frances Knipe, Patricia Croft (late Donald), late Edward Brett (late Marguerite), late Wilbur Brett (Judy), late Cecillia Begley, Doug Brett (Carol), Richard Brett (Michelle) and Robert Brett (Joanne). Predeceased by his parents Douglas (Jack) and Dora Brett. Dear son in law of Carol and the late Floyd Desjarlais. Dear Brother in law of Fay MacDonald (Bill), Lorraine Desjarlais, Darryl Desjarlais( Lynne), Art Desjarlais (Ann- Marie) and Christine Desjarlais (Larry Girard).
