Donna Jean Anne Wright (nee Taylor)

Wright Donna,squareApril 24, 1947 – May 3, 2016

Peacefully, surrounded by love and music, Donna Wright (nee Taylor) of Tilbury passed away in the evening hours of May 3rd. Donna is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Richard and his wife Linda, Jason and his wife Michelle, and Kim and her husband Michael; her brothers Howard Taylor, and Gary Taylor and his wife Linda, and her sisters-in-law Kathleen Croteau and her husband Ray, and Margaret Ferris. Donna was beloved and will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Dylan, Jesse, Colin, and Aileen, her great grandchildren Addyson and Savanah, as well as her many nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Tilbury and Merlin, Donna was born to Mary and Lou at their home on April 24, 1947, while Lou was helping to build Tilbury High School. Donna made friends everywhere she went, whether that was during her work at W.H. Olsen Manufacturing, while waitressing at several of Tilbury’s bars and restaurants, or while watching a game at the arena or baseball diamond. She was quick with a smile and a laugh, and brightened the lives of everyone she touched. Though she faced medical challenges at different points in her life, Donna did not let them keep her from caring about her friends and neighbours, or being part of the community. An avid reader, Donna was a frequent visitor to the library in Tilbury and always had a new book to devour and then discuss with her friends and family. Visitations for Donna will be held at Reaume Funeral Home in Tilbury at 6 Canal Street West on Saturday, May 7th from 11am to 1pm and from 3pm to 5pm. Immediately following the visitation will be a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 206 at 4 Stewart Street, Tilbury.  For those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family suggests either the Randy Atkinson Memorial Fund, which is administered through the Tilbury Knights of Columbus or the Chatham-Kent Hospice (www.chathamkenthospice).
