Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home at Vision “74” in Sarnia. After 38 years he has finally been reunited with his loving wife Ilene Madge (Hyatt). Loving father of Mary Lee Felder and her husband Mike, Mark and his wife Lori (Gowrie) Carroll. Proud grandfather of Carol Anne Dolbear and her husband Kelly, Nathan and his wife Colleen (McVeety) Felder, Jennifer, Lindsay, Amber, Ashley Carroll, and Great grandfather of, Ethan, Alissa, Makayla, Tadra, Paige, William, Tessa, Kaden, Kaleb and William. Fondly remembered by sisters in law Helen Syrie, Keitha (Bob) Webb, brothers in law Doug (Theresa) Hyatt, Ken Hyatt and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his best friend Earle Douglas. Predeceased by his father Frank, Mother Lena (Lester), brothers George, Clarence and Jack Taylor, and by sisters Rosie Bidner, Ona Hoad and Vera McGee; Father and mother in law Earl and Lila (Kendall) Hyatt, brothers in law Lyle Hyatt, Ray Syrie and Jack McGee and sister in law Norma Hyatt. Bill retired after 34 years at Polysar and Nova Chemicals. He spent numerous hours as a tireless volunteer with the Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Sarnia Humane Soctiety. For many years Bill was an Elder and member of the Board of Governors at Paterson Memorial Church. When not volunteering or working for the Church, Bill enjoyed the many hours he spent playing bridge and euchre with this many friends. A special thank you to all the staff and friends at Vision Nursing Home for their friendship, love, compassion and support that you gave Bill over the last few years and in his final days. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 1576 London Line Sarnia, on Monday March 12, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Tuesday March13, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 PM.
The Funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home Tuesday, March 13, 2011 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow in Bear Creek Cemetery.
