Roy Willfang, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, January 20, 2014. He was 84.
Born in Neustadt on December 1, 1929 to Henry and Emma (nee Scheerer) Willfang. Roy was a Cabinet Maker and Furniture Finisher for Knechtels for over 30 years.
Survived by wife Edna (nee Wilken) of Hanover, children Sandra (Richard) Ermel of Hanover, Larry (Flora) Willfang of Port Elgin, Judy (Gordon) Thompson of Kincardine, Brian (Mary) Willfang of Hanover, grandchildren Erin (Craig), Kerri, Dave (Kathy), Dean (Terrill), Dustin, Sean, Jeff (Erin), Michael, Calvin, Beth and great grandchildren Matthew, Makenzie, Kyle, Tristan and Garrett. Also survived by brothers Allan “Lefty” (Joy) Willfang of Hanover, sisters Oleda Pries of Hanover, Esther Wettlaufer of Walkerton, sister-in-law Marybelle Willfang of Kitchener, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Menno, Walter, Harvey and a sister Violet.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 am, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
