WhitingDonaldwebPassed away with his family by his side at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.  DONALD WHITING, in his 81st year, of Petrolia.   Don was a loving husband of 61 years to Mary (nee Durance).  He will be missed by his children Randy (Sherry) Whiting of Oil Springs, Ronald Whiting of Sarnia, Delorse (Jim) Healy of Petrolia, Marilee (Mark) Wright of Sarnia, Daniel (Sue) Whiting of Oil Springs, and Shrie (Jim) Piggott of Oil Springs, his son-in-law Tim Wright of Bright’s Grove, and by his thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.  Don was the brother of Leona Frayne and Stan Whiting both of Petrolia.  He was predeceased by his parents Viola (nee Brownscombe)(1972) and James (1977), his brothers Ken (2003) and Ross (1980), his sisters Betty Dupuis (2006)and Muriel Frayne (2011) and his granddaughter Jamilyn
Piggott (2000).  Don was retired from the Lambton County Board of Education, he was a member and past master of Petrolia-Washington Lodge #194 and was a past president of CUPE Local 1019.  Visitors will be received on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia.  Petrolia-Washington Lodge #194 will conduct at memorial service on Thursday at 8 p.m.   A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia.   As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or C.E.E.
