NORMA AGNES “DOBEY” WHITELY (nee Houghton) died peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2014, in her 83rd year, surrounded by her loving family at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. Norma and Don, her husband of 61 years, farmed and raised their family at Reece’s Corners. She is the cherished mother of Steve and Francie Whitely, Sandra and Manfred Arndt, Paul and Lorrie Whitely, Jim and Lynne Whitely, and Margaret and Stan Klapak. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren Benjamin, Reagan (James), Luke, the late Kristie (1981), Tyson, Matthew (Hannah), Bryden, Daniel, Laura, Adam, Taylor, Travis, Brynn, Troy, Haleigh, Lauren, Madison, and Jared and her great grandchildren Elliott and Jack. She was predeceased by her parents James (1961) and Marion (1976) Houghton and her siblings Jeane Houghton, Bill (Elaine) Houghton, and Helen (the late Jim) Symington. She was a beloved sister-in-law to Reta (the late Ray) Gavigan, Lawrence (Yvonne) Whitely, Jack (Mary) Whitely, Leo (Lorraine) Whitely, and Leonard (Dodie) Whitely. Friends and family will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WYOMING CHAPEL, 650 Broadway St., Wyoming. Prayers will be offered at 4 pm. Mass to celebrate Norma’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 from St. Philip’s Church, King St., Petrolia. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
