Peacefully, surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, November 9, 2014, Lloyd Franklin Waun passed away at the age of 84. Loving husband for over 61 years to Norma (Curts). Devoted and cherished Dad to daughter Megan (Brian Sygrove) and son Gary, both of Sarnia.  Proud Grandpa of Amanda and Mathew.  Nephew of Helen Waun of Strathroy.  Dear brother-in-law of Erma Baird and Eleanor (Clare) Ritchie.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bennie (1951) and Edith (1977) and brothers Eddie (1978) and Clare (2006). Lloyd was born in Lucan, Ontario on September 11, 1930 and was raised in Parkhill, Ontario where he began his training as a butcher at Orr’s Meat Market.  He was a volunteer fireman for 10 years in Parkhill and moved to Sarnia in 1957 where he was an employee and meat manager of the four Dominion Stores.  He was a member of the Parkhill and Sarnia Lions Club and was president in 1965.  He coached both minor baseball and hockey leagues.  A special thank you to Dr. Maddison, Dr. Crombeen and the staff and volunteers for their kind and compassionate care given to Lloyd. A funeral service will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.  Interment in Parkhill Cemetery.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or to the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
