Died peacefully on Sunday May 25, 2014 at the Blue Mountain Manor , Stayner in her 88th year, surrounded with love and her three daughters by her side. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A., she moved to the greater Toronto area in 1956 as a new bride and young mother and then made Mississauga her home for over 50 years. Nancy moved to Blue Mountain Manor in Stayner in June 2012. Loving mother of Sharon Watts (Malcolm Batten), Sue (George Grierson) and Sarah Watts. Cherished grandmother of Amanda Batten, Jessica Batten, Erin Leis (Devon), Leah Grierson (Jeremy Gee) and step grandmother of Susanne Batten (Tim Dooley). Dear great-grandmother of Rae Leis and step great-grandmother of Michael Dooley. She is predeceased by her brother Bill Hobbs. She was a kind and brave soul whose fondness of gardens was only surpassed by her love of books. Nancy retained her sense of humour and intellectual curiosity to the end.The family would like to extend their gratitude toward Dr. Bryan Recoskie and the Blue Mountain Manor staff for their continuous support and care. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Thursday May 29, 2014 from 1 to 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
