Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Monday, July 1, 2013, Henk Visser went home to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 79. Henk was a member of Living Hope Christian Reformed Church and a proud supporter of Christian education. Henk enjoyed music tremendously and loved to play his harmonica for anyone who would listen. Henk also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Sursum Corda Male Chorus for 23 years. Henk is survived by his wife Elly (Joosse) who was truly the love of his life; along with children John (Dianne) Visser, Karen (Paul) Griffin, Beverly (Len) Klumpenhouwer, and Paul (Jennifer) Visser; grandchildren Adam (Jenn), Kristina, Natalie, Joshua, Lisa, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Adrian, Dylan, Zackery and Sarah; and one great-grandson, Noah. Also survived by sister Edith Pama, brothers Matt and Andy (Alice), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by the Joosse family as a wonderful brother-in-law. Predeceased by father John Visser in 1958 and mother Ekke Visser in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church, 5834 Blackwell Sd. Rd., Sarnia, on Friday, July 5, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, July 4, 2013, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
