VERBEEM: Larry. A resident of Chatham and formerly of Ridgetown, Larry Verbeem passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the age of 66. Born in Chatham, son of the late John Joseph and Simone Mary (DeClark) Verbeem. Beloved husband of Mary Lynn (Mardling) Verbeem for 47 years. Dear father of Michelle Huckle of Chatham, Lori Lynn Burke of Chatham, and Cindy Jo Stonefish of Peterborough. Grandfather of Stacey Huckle, Raina and Laney Burke, Kyla, Jesse, and Jo Lynn Stonefish. Great-grandfather of Brandi and Alexis. Brother of John and Mary Ann Verbeem of Blenheim, Ken and Kim Verbeem of Chatham, Kim Maier of Chatham, and the late Connie Shaw (1982), George Verbeem (1982), and Mary Beth Myers (2011). Also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Larry retired from Ford Motor Company in St. Thomas after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael’s Parish, Ridgetown and a founding member of the Ridgetown Knights of Columbus Council #8435. Larry was a 3rd Degree member and was a Past Grand Knight. He was very active in community projects with the Knights of Columbus. Larry was also a proud member of the “Beem Team”. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 26 George St., Ridgetown on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at St. Michael’s Parish Hall. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Outreach For Hunger or Knights of Columbus Council #8435 (Education Bursary) which Larry organized would be appreciated.
