Van Dyk, Frank J. of Talbotville, passed away, suddenly, on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013, at his late residence in his 66th year. Dearly loved husband of Kathy (Heidt) Van Dyk and loved father of Mike Van Dyk (Ingrid), Kim Goodhue and Leah Paterson (Mike). Loved grandfather of Karch, Kendal, Cole, Koen, and Fyn. Dear brother of Bert Van Dyk, Lannie Vanderheyden (Pete), Henry Van Dyk (Anne Marie), Leo Van Dyk (Diane) and Tina Vanderwetering and father-in-law of Chris Goodhue. Predeceased by 5 brothers John, Jim, Peter, Tony and Joe and by 3 sisters Henrietta, Betty and Mary. Dear brother-in-law of Abel Huisman, John Donkers (Anne), Bob Lester and the late Harry Vanderwetering. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Frank was born in The Netherlands on November 20th, 1947, the son of the late Leo and Johanna (Lamers) Van Dyk. He came to Canada in 1952. Frank worked for the Thames Valley School Board as a custodian at Saunders High School , London. He was a former umpire with the St. Thomas and Aylmer District Umpires Association. Family always came first for Frank. He was an avid gardener, canner and enjoyed making his own maple syrup. He was an extraordinaire pizza chef.

The family are celebrating Frank’s life by having an open house at their home, 10333 Talbotville- Gore Rd, Talbotville on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. There will be a private family service. Cremation has taken place. Flowers gratefully declined. Remembrances would be appreciated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
