With his family by his side on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. Born in Belgium the son of Karel and Maria Van Dun, JOHN VAN DUN, of Petrolia, was in his 97th year. He was a loving husband to the late Elizabeth (2009). He was the proud father of Mary and Peter Quinn, Joe and the late Geraldine (2005) Van Dun, Margaret and Ken Freer, and Walter Van Dun and Karen, all of Petrolia. John was the loved grandfather of Pauline (Les) Quinn-Gardner, Owen (Birgit) Quinn, Wendy (Geoff) Ainsworth, Martin Quinn, Joanne Percy-Van Dun, Linda (Andrew) Chwiecko, Jason (Lisa) Freer, Lisa Freer, and Charles Freer, and fifteen great grandchildren. John was predeceased by a great grandson Nathan. John is survived by his sisters, Anna and Eliza, and his brother Frans, and was predeceased by his brothers Petrus, Jef, and August and his sister Mina. Visitors will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. Parish prayers will be offered at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Philip’s Church, King Street, Petrolia.
