Van Andel, Dee Dee – passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the age of 75 years.  She was for the past 30 years the beloved wife of Andries (Andy) Van Andel.  She was born in Uithuizen, The Netherlands as Diewerke Dorenbos and after her emigration to the USA adopted the name of Deborah Lee and became known as Dee Dee.  Dee Dee was the daughter of the late Machiel and Aafke (nee Knol) Dorenbos.  She taught at an elementary school in Chicago.  In Sheboygan, WI she married Roger K. Treu, regional manager for the FAA.  She lived in Fort Worth, TX, Milwaukee, WI and Fort Wayne, IN before marrying Andy Van Andel and moving to Canada.  She was the loving mother of Tim (Liz) Treu of California, Steve (Lisa) Treu of Florida and Linda Treu of Georgia.  Dear stepmother of Fred (Doris) Van Andel of Barrie and Dineke (Bill) DeSnoo of Belleville.  She is forever remembered by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Jonathan, Daniel and Libby Treu all of California and Christopher and Ashley Treu both of Florida and Gerreke DeSnoo of Belleville.  She is also survived by her sisters Grace (Bill) Porter of California and Jo (Paul) Widger of Wisconsin and predeceased by her first husband Roger K. Treu.  Dee Dee was a very active member of the Belleville Christian Women’s Club.

Friends are invited to call at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Quinte Alliance Church, 373 Bridge St. West on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.  Rev. Ernie Klassen officiating.  Interment to follow at Belleville Cemetery.

Afterwards, friends are invited to join the family for a light lunch at the church.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
