Passed away peacefully at home on

September 28, 2013, at the age of 91, with

loving family by his side. Loving husband

and best friend of 31 years to Dru. Dearest

stepfather to Michael Berlasty (Tiziana)

and Christine Banner (Ed Coleman).

Cherished grandfather of Jacob, Adrian,

Sarah and Justin. Predeceased by parents Robert

and Mae (Harris) Travis. Dear brother to Arlyle (Harold)

Ellis, Robert (Elta) Travis, and brother-in-law to Don

and Anna Hancock and Danny and Chrissy Hancock.

Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Will be sadly missed by many friends and family

as well as his faithful companion “Buddy”.

Jim served his country proudly during WWII.

Following 29 years of service at Canada

Post, Jim spent several years involved in the

horse racing industry where he developed

many lifelong friendships. He was a talented

musician and enjoyed many years performing

with his band the “James Travis Trio” as well

as with many other local musicians. Jim will be

remembered as a good man for a life well lived.

He will forever be in the hearts of all who were

blessed to have known him. A special thank

you to Amy McLean, Janet McCormick, and Jay

(of MLW) for their exceptional care and support, as well

as CCAC and the St. Elizabeth personal

support workers for their compassionate care.

A private family service was held.
