Thompson MAINOn the first day of spring and in her 96th year Peg passed in to heaven. Born in Chicago, Peg was the wife of the late Elmer ‘Tugs’ Thompson (1981) and much loved mother of Edward ‘Ted’ Thompson, sweet mother-in-law to Linda and mother to the late William ‘Bill’ Thompson (1977.)  Peg was raised in Kerwood and was a farm girl by heart.  They moved to Sarnia in 1955, where she went to work for the Hudson Bay Company then Walker Brothers in Sarnia.  Peg was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  Special grandmother to Mark & Debbie Thompson, Mississauga,  Michael & Sharon Thompson, London, Tom Thompson, Strathroy, Kelly Steeves, Sarnia and Darren & Stacey Thompson, Mississauga.  Dear great grandmother to Alicia (Edward), Jenna, Lindsay, Rachel, Maxwell, Nicholas, Mick and Piper.  And great great grandmother to Mackenzie.  Auntie Peg will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by daughter in law Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Thompson (2011), grandson Craig ‘Cec’ Thompson (2013) and special brother James Murby at the age of 102 (2014.)  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at 11:00 am at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, with the service following at 12:00 noon.  A reception will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at The Sarnia Riding Club, 980 Riding Club Lane.  The family welcomes all friends and family to celebrate the lives of two wonderful ladies – Grace (Pyette) Blanchard and Peg Thompson who passed on in to heaven, arm in arm both on Friday, March 21st, 2014.  Memories and condolences may be sent online at
