It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Taylor after a brief fight with cancer.   With his wife and partner of 57 years Marie, by his side, after coming in from a walk, he simply closed his eyes and left us quietly.  He leaves behind  Ross, Leigh (Joe), Alan (Laurell), Donna (Aldo), Kelly (Tim) and Drew and many grandchildren in Sarnia, Toronto, London, Edmonton, Calgary and Squamish.   John was a retired Polysar employee and was actively involved over the years in various capacities at Huron Oaks Golf Club.  He continued to play hockey until recently.  His absence will be missed by many, but he will be fondly remembered by all.  Cremation has taken place.  Please join us for a celebration of John’s life on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Huron Oaks Golf Club, 2587 Lakeshore Rd. Brights Grove from  6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made  in John’s name to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N. Christina St. Sarnia, On. 519-337-0537.  The arrangements have been entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia.  Memories and condolences may be sent online at

We wish to especially thank Dr. Maddison and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice who helped make his final days comfortable.
