78 years, died at home on January 31st, 2014 surrounded by her husband and children.  Katie was the matriarch of a large family of 6 children and 14 grandchildren.  Born in Detroit in 1935 to Irish-Canadian parents, she moved to Tilbury with her husband John C. Taylor in 1960 and quickly made herself indispensable to the community.  She loved little babies, jigs and reels, family get-togethers and a good homily at Sunday Mass.  Katie was a co-founder of the Tilbury Family Health Team, which brought primary care to thousands of people.  She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, a director of the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent, a registered nurse who helped launch the personal support worker program at St. Clair College, and a recovering alcoholic for over 30 years who helped many people attain sobriety.  Sadly missed by her husband John, her sister Arlene Hussey, children Denise and Greg Bolohan, Maureen Taylor and the late Dr. Donald Low (2013), Joe and Roxanne Taylor, Colleen and Jeff Bond, Julie and Jim Renaud, and Jennifer and Jon David Kehoe.  Predeceased by her sister Karen (2009). Her grandchildren will miss Mim’s peanut butter balls for Christmases ever after.   Special thank you to St. Elizabeth nurses and Dr. Colin Bryan who provided exemplary palliative care.  Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury on Monday, February 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  C.W.L. prayers 2 p.m. Monday.  Visitation to continue on Tuesday, February 4 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury from 4:00 p.m. until commencement of Funeral Mass at 6:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.  Online condolences may be shared at www.reaumefh.com
