It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer, on August 30, 2018 at the age of 85 years surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved and devoted husband of Dorothy (Horvath) for 57 beautiful years. Adored father of Paula Horvath and husband László, Suzanne Ujj, John Tamasovics Jr. and wife Frances.  Proud grandpa of László Jr. and Aida, Trisztán, Katarina, Selena, Sabrina, John Jr. and fiancé Jordan, Felicia, and Frank.  Reunited with his parents Tamasovics, János and Jánosné (Hungary) and in-laws George and Anna Horvath.  Predeceased by brother Tamasovics, József and Rószalia.  Missed by brother in law George Horvath and the late Zelma and predeceased by Bill and Irene, Paul and Grace, László and Ilona.   Missed by Frank Italiano and late wife Stella.  Survived by many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and extended families in Canada, USA, Hungary, and Australia.   Deeply missed by the “doggies”, Queen Zoee and King Louie.

Born in Végardó/ Sárospatak, Hungary, John emigrated from his home land in 1956 and arrived in Canada in January 1957.  He settled in Windsor and began his trade in the plastics industry at ITL.  He eventually branched out and co-founded JFJ Mold in 1963. The second building, developed in the Oldcastle Industrial Region started the largest tooling and injection molding industry in Ontario, Canada.  He celebrated 50 years of business. Through all his success, his family life was his greatest accomplishment.  One that he thanked God for every day of his life.  He was a devout Catholic and had a great love for Our Blessed Mother.  He was proud of his Hungarian heritage, thereby supporting Mindszenty Hall and St. Anthony of Padua Parish.  We will always remember Dad’s Hungarian Csárdás and his love of singing!!

A special thank you to all of the Doctors, nurses, especially Amanda, family, friends, Fr. Larry, Fr. Leo, and St. Paul’s Parish who have supported our family. The outpouring of love has been truly heartfelt. Donations to the Windsor and Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation, The Hospice, or a local charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Visiting Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm.  The Rosary will be said Monday at 4:30 pm along with Parish Prayers at 7:30 pm.  Funeral Service Tuesday 10 am at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 then in procession to St. Joseph’s River Canard for a Mass of Resurrection at 11 am.  Entombment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Share memories, photos or make a donation at www.FamiliesFirst.ca
