SZYDZIAK, RogerRoger passed away in his sleep on June 9th, 2014 at his peaceful home on the water, at the age of 58 years. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl (née Rogers), his daughter Lisa (Josh) and his son Andrew (Jessie). Loving poppa to Jaydon, Ella, Drake and Charlotte. Cherished son of Thérèse and Joseph (predeceased). Loving brother of Debra O’Hearn (Brian), Bob (Joanie), Lise Prévost (Patrick) and Joe (Annie). Treasured uncle and godfather to many nieces and nephews. Roger was born in Sudbury, Ontario on January 17th, 1956. Roger married Cheryl on May 9th, 1981 and began their family. He worked as an engineer for INCO until his retirement. Roger loved his camp and home. His one dream was to live on Nepewassi Lake and to putt around his yard, go for a ride in his boat or practice his music in the great outdoors. Roger was actively involved in the Sea Cadet and Navy League Cadet movements as well as the Navy League Branch. He taught countless amounts of youth how to play music and won the Greater City of Sudbury Civic Award for volunteerism in 2014. Roger was a member and the Treasurer for the Polish Combatants. He adored his family, including his 4 very busy grandchildren. He had various opportunities to do many things with his children including playing in the Imperial Knights Alumni Corps and go on fishing excursions. Roger lived each and every day to its fullest; living with no regrets. Roger will be adored and treasured for many years to come. Not a day will go by, that he will not be missed. We love you Poppa! There will be no visitation or service. We will be celebrating Roger’s life at the end of the summer. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
