web_Szczerba_KatharinaPassed away peacefully on February 1, 2014 at the age of 77 years.    Reunited with her  parents Barbara and Karl Kuhnert,, her sisters Editha Huber, Gisela Schneider, her husband Ben Szczerba (2004), and her beloved Rex (German Shepherd).  Will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her sister Hedwig Blumoehr, and brothers Karlheinz Kuhnert and Hans Joachim Kuhnert, nieces and nephews in Germany. Katharina enjoyed a long standing career as a legal secretary, 28 years of which were in the employ of Leonard Lyons (1988).  Katharina was well known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, quiet presence, and her passion for and love of music. Swimming, playing piano, organ, chorus/choir singing, Scottish Dancing, and coffee time with friends at Tim Horton’s were some of her favourite activities.  A parishioner of Corpus Christi parish (former organist at St. Gabes) and frequent attendee at Assumption Church Latin Mass.   A long time resident of South Windsor, Katharina’s neighbours will miss her friendly demeanour and helping hands.  A special thank you to the care team at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus and Hospice Windsor Essex County for the compassionate quality care Katharina received during her recent illness.  Katy’s wishes were that cremation take place and there will  be no services.  In her memory, donations made to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.  Share memories, photos or make a donation at
