SWEITZER, Paul Sr. – With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and papa, Paul Sweitzer Sr. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on April 14, 2014 at the age of 59, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Christine, of 37 years, as well as his beloved children Paul Jr. and Stefanie, their spouses Teresa and Jeff, and his cherished grandchildren Ethan, Alyssa and Isaac. He was a loving brother to Kevin (Angela), Mary (Bob) Houghton, and Bernie (Debbie). Brother in law in name but a true brother in spirit to Sandra (Tad) Stangret, Frank (Donna) Rosianna, Gloria (Rich) Cardwell, Rose (Rick) Richardson, and Jerry (Helen) Rosianna. Paul was also uncle to many adored nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Paul Sr. and Sarah Sweitzer, Step Dad Duffy Pryczak, Father and Mother in law Nick and Mary Rosianna. He will also be lovingly remembered by longtime best friends Fred (Louise) Graham.
Paul Sr. spent his life as a devoted husband, father, Papa and friend. He was happiest when spending time with family, friends and his beloved dog, Zero. He was an adept chef who took his cooking seriously. He cherished moments spent fishing and relaxing by the lake. His sense of humour and “catch phrases” could be counted on to put a smile on the faces of those he loved. Words cannot say how much he will be missed and how many cherished memories that he is a part of. As Paul would always say, “I love you more than you will ever know…”
A special thank you to the compassionate nurses Geneva and Tanya from CCAC who made it possible for Paul to be home with his family during his last days, which was his only wish.
