TOMPKINS, CORKY – Clitheroe (Corky) Wellington Tompkins at the age of 87 fell asleep in death to await a resurrection to a paradise earth. He loved this hope and talked about it to anyone with a listening ear. Knowing Corky meant you knew of his favourite place on earth, Biscotasing. Born and raised in the ‘bush’ with endless tales of exploration, hard work, cutting ice from the lake and friendships. He made sure his family experienced the north and encouraged our love of it. He also spent time working in the mines at Inco as a Millwright and also as a Stationary Engineer in chemical valley. Corky loved to talk shop and had an incredible memory of every incident at work. He was the dear father to Brenda Williams (Steve), Bruce Tompkins (Lilly), Mark Tompkins (Junior), Cheryl Tompkins, Glendon Tompkins (Judy), Melissa Tompkins and Amy Tompkins (Stirling). The family would like to thank Dr. Madison and the St. Joseph’s Hospice. Also special thanks to Joe Roy who called Corky every day and Rod Sewell who was a good and steadfast friend. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 24 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 550 Murphy Road, Sarnia Ontario.
