John Campbell – of Listowel, formerly of Atwood, passed away unexpectedly at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday February 19, 2017 at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of the late Anna (Weber) Campbell who predeceased him in 2014.  Loving father of Brian Campbell (Barb), Colleen Vetor, Brenda Campbell (Mike Graham), Karen Rea (Wayne) and Sharon Campbell. Special grandpa of Samantha (Michael), Robert (Tracey), Michelle (Anthony), Nelson (Nicole), Tyler (Laura), David, Jonathon, Amanda, Allison, Susan (Craig), Tina (Chris), Melissa (Rob), Amanda (Jamie), Jason (Meghan) and 16 great-grandchildren.  Brother of Ruth McCullouch and brother-in-law of Roy McCullouch, Oswald Weber, Lorraine Weber, Mary Ann and Walter Reitzel, Marlene and William Fay, Sister Irene Weber, Allan and Audrey Weber.  Fondly remembered by Gary Vetor, Dale Stanley and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Dorothy (Leake) Campbell, sisters Margaret Weber (Lorne), Doris Edgar (Harold), Martha McCullouch, brothers Jim (Lucy), Harold, Robert, Allen and brother-in-law Lorne McCullouch.

NAFZIGER, Barbara – of Newton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Monday February 13, 2017 at the age of 78. Barb enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and making crafts which she exhibited at numerous fall fairs.  She was a yard sale enthusiast and loved spending time playing games with her family.

Beloved wife of John Nafziger whom she married in 1959.  Loving mother of Connie Cassel (Steve), Debbie Purcell (Doug), Frances Royal (Joe), Paul (Jen), and Calvin (Heidi).  Special grandma of Shane, Dean (Erin), Cory (Melissa), Natashia (Mike), Devin (Tessa), Sabrina (James), Jordan (Melissa), Michael, Samantha (Matthew), Jessica, Rachel and great grandma of 14.  Remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Marlene Herrfort, Bernice Herrfort, Edna Tigani, Robert Nafziger (Rose), Jake Nafziger (Sharon), Donald Nafziger, Bill Nafziger (Judy) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barb was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Henry and Frances (Zehr) Herrfort, sister Mildred Roes (David), and brothers William (in infancy), Sam, Allan and Melvin.

In keeping with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.  A private family graveside service will take place at Riverdale Mennonite Cemetery, Millbank.

HAHN, Melissa (Dippy) of Route 3 Monkton

HAHN, Melissa (Dippy) – passed away peacefully at her residence RR 3 Monkton on Friday February 3, 2017 one day before her 42nd birthday. Melissa was a dialysis patient at Stratford General Hospital for twelve years.  She will be remembered by everyone for her determination to live through one crisis after another.  She taught everyone around her to live in the moment.  Melissa enjoyed many things in life – family celebrations and attending her brother’s midget hockey games.  Faith, family, friends and her love of music fulfilled Melissa’s life.

Cherished daughter of Bruce and Diane (Metzger) Hahn.  Dear sister of Darrick Hahn (Jane Barkley), Bill Hahn (Jennifer MacNeil), Pam Brame (Trevor), Charlene (Punk) Hahn, Adam Hahn (Megan Weitzel), Christopher Smith.  Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Noah, Mira, Eadie, Kaden, Ashlyn, Jimmy and Owen.  Also remembered by special friends Aaron Smith, Lisa Satchell, Heidi Long, Mary Ellen Ropp and her aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Moody, Charlotte Jean– Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. Joseph’s  Hospice  House at the age of 92. Charlotte “Jean” is survived by nieces Blanche ( Raymer ) Weir,  Kathy ( Mike ) Mervich and Lori ( Don ) Hoffman and  many great nieces and nephews.  She was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Alexander Moody and dear friend of the late Edward Kearney.  She was predeceased by her parents George and Ethel Wise and her sisters Edith Wise, Hazel Spring, Martha Lamb and Stella Bealer.  Also predeceased by nieces Donna Havens and Beverly Wolfe. “Jean” was a longtime, faithful member of Central United Church. She loved to go camping, do crossword puzzles and crochet. In the fall, she completed 37 milk bag mats in a 12 month period for the Third World, earning the honorary title as Central’s Master Mat Maker.  She was housebound the last few years and appreciated the loving support of Helen Karr, Hazel Shymko, Lee Molitor, Nancy Andrews, VON caregiver Vicki Stothers and the Kearney family.  A remembrance and celebration of her life will be held at D. J. Robb Funeral Home Tuesday February 7. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 – 2pm prior to the 2pm service officiated by Reverend Lilian Patey.  Private burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. KENNY, Christina Victoria of Calgary

KENNY, Christina Victoria, passed away of viral meningitis at her residence in Calgary on January 25, 2017.  Beloved daughter of Clare and Stirling Kenny, twin sister of Mark Kenny (wife Jennifer) and aunt of Lauren Lee Kenny, all of Guelph, sister of Brent Kenny (wife Danielle) and aunt of Grace Katharine Kenny, all of Toronto.  She was predeceased by her sister, Katharine (Katie) Kenny.  Vikki attended Avon Public School and Stratford Central.  She always had wonderful memories of growing up in Stratford and spending every summer at the family cottage in Oakwood Park, Grand Bend, where, for many years she enjoyed working at J Dee’s Summerhouse.  After high school she spent two years as an au pair living in Oldenburg, Germany, followed by a year in Paris.

After graduating from college, she served as a Master Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces, for ten years at CFB Borden near Barrie, then three years in Edmonton in the Military Police. In 2013 she transferred from the Regular Forces to the Reserve Force.  She then moved to Calgary when she was employed by the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for Southern Alberta, and also worked at the Calgary Drop-In and Rehabilitation Society.

She missed Ontario and wanted to move back to be closer to family and friends. Vikki was to arrive shortly to be Godmother for her new niece, Grace Katharine Kenny.

Vikki had the most amazing blue eyes and always lit up every room with that wonderful smile. She loved animals and walked dogs for the Humane Society and always had a cat for a companion.  She will be sorely missed by her many friends here in Ontario and in Edmonton and Calgary.

Cremation has taken place in Calgary. A private family service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Stratford, Ontario.  A celebration of Vikki’s life will take place at a later date in the summer, at the family cottage in Oakwood Park, Grand Bend, at which time her ashes will be committed to the family garden alongside those of her sister Katie.

MOORE: RALPH, CARL OF SARNIA

RALPH CARL MOORE- passed away at Bluewater Health on January 24, 2017. A teenage farm boy from Moore’s lane grew to become a skilled tradesman and a proud member of Local 663. He served a term as president of both the Chamber of Commerce and the Sarnia Construction Association during his working years. He built the RABAR. Ralph was predeceased by his parents W.H. “Harry” and Reta (Haslip) Moore, his sister Trudy (Moore) Polak, and his elder son Ralph W. Moore. He was greatly loved by his wife Barbara ( Robinson) Moore and all his family: Brent Moore, son of Ralph’s elder son and Brent’s children Haley, Majofsky, Tala Moore and Brayden Moore; his son Dan,  wife Cheryl and sons Kevin and Mark; his daughter Bette (Moore) Woodley and her daughter Sarah Kell, who with her partner Jason Kell has just presented us with our latest addition, three month old Hunter; his daughter Lori (Moore) Zonneville and her daughters Erika (Melanie) and Rebecca and Becca’s two children Wayne and Aubrey. The Moore family stands tall together so we are sure Ralph will be long remembered and often spoken of by his brothers Gerald (Grace) and Charles “Chuck” (Suzanne, Deceased) and by his sisters Beverly Richards (Jim) and Linda Ryan (Doug). There will be a Celebration of Ralph’s life from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on February 4, 2017 at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home and Cremation Center, (102 Victoria St. N. Lloyd Henry Wheeler, a resident of Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow and formerly of Teeswater and Bluevale, passed away at Pinecrest Manor on Tuesday, January 24th, 2017 at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of Patricia Gamble-Wheeler (née Mulcaster) of Teeswater and the late Isabel Wheeler (née Cameron) who predeceased him in May 1994.

Muriel Petrie – passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Monday December 12, 2016 at the age of 94.  Muriel was a member of the former Donegal United Church, Donegal UCW and a past president of the Donegal Women’s Institute.  She was a former 4H Leader in Perth County and a former crossing guard in Milverton.  In the late 1950’s, Muriel obtained her nurses aid certificate and proudly worked at Knollcrest Lodge.

Dear mother of Donna Patterson (Jim), Ken Petrie, Bill Petrie, Maureen Houston (Vince Bergin) and Bob Petrie.  Special grandma of Ken, David, Richard, Scott, Kyle, Jill, Amy, Jonathon, and Jennifer.  Sister of Earl Buchanan.  Fondly remembered by her 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lilias Posliff – formerly of Monkton, passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Sunday December 11, 2016 at the age of 102. Lilias and her husband Charles (Parker) operated a hardware store in Monkton for 20 years and later an antique store known as Parker’s Ponderosa.

Beloved wife of the late Charles Posliff who predeceased her in 1991. Loving mother of Marian Harvey (Bob) of Stratford and Jake Posliff (Heather) of Nanaimo, BC.  Special grandma of Alandra (Wanda) Anderson (David), Janice Harvey (Bob), Robert Posliff (Hang), Stephen Posliff (Jamie) and great grandma of Mason (Jenelle), Sam, Aidan, Brendan, Jessica, Tim and Tanis.  Sister of Robert Adair (Alice) of Mississauga.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

KROPF, Esther of Milverton

kropf-estherEsther Kropf – passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton with her family by her side on Saturday November 26, 2016 at the age of 91. Esther was a member of Poole Mennonite Church where she was a former member of the ladies Sewing Circle.  She enjoyed working as a Home Care worker in the Waterloo area for many years.  Esther also enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved spending time at their trailer at Miller’s Family Camp at Miller Lake.

Willa was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel.  She enjoyed knitting, time spent at the trailer in Port Elgin, campfires, singing, playing cards and board games and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Gordon Ament who predeceased her in 2000. Loving mother of Brian (predeceased 1985), Linda (Keith) Holmes and Paul (Mary Lynne) Ament.  Special grandma of Kelly (Wes) and their children Aaron and Brennan; Stacey, Mark (Lindsey), Marlee and Brynn.  Sister-in-law of Edith Schalk and Eileen Ament.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Willa was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Gerard Sr. and Marie (Schyff) Schalk, brothers Henk (Janet), Cor (Joyce), Gerard, and sister Erna (Bill) Lucas.

Harvey was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton and a former volunteer firefighter with the Monkton Fire Station.  He enjoyed playing cards and fishing for speckled trout.

Beloved husband of Eldeen (Raycraft) Ward with whom he would have shared 66 years of marriage on November 4th.  Loving father of Doug (Elaine), Daryle (Kim), Lyle (Heidi).  Special grandpa of Cory (Sherry Lynn), Tarra (Gary), Angie, Jennifer, Tim (Rosanna), Jeremy (Melinda) Christina (Ben), Micheal (Angie), Derek (Andrea), April (Derek), Devon (Sarah), 31 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.  Brother and brother-in-law of Sally Scott, Jim Ward, Olive Ward, Terry Ward and Ruth Ward.  Fondly remembered by the Ward nieces and nephews, Rick Davidson (Diann) and the extended Raycraft family.

Tom was a true farmer, spending time at the farmer’s markets at Kitchener and Waterloo Stockyards and Listowel Livestock, but always found time to enjoy camping at Family Paradise Campground and playing Lost Heir.  He took great pride in his Ford 8N tractor.

Beloved husband of Lorraine (Pestell) Dewar whom he married in 1960.  Loving father of Deb Best, Paul (Jodie) and Greg (Cindy). Special grandpa of Dennis (Mel), Darryl (Lisa), Candace (Jeramey), Chelsea (Steve) and great- grandpa of Lily and Bryson.  Dear brother of Shirley Buchanan, Jessie Buchanan, Marj (Paul) Krauter and Dorie Wagner (Ron Hartman).  Brother-in-law of Mary Strachan, Larry Pestell (Arlene Riehl), Faye Welsh (Ken), Robert Pestell, Andy Buchanan, Elaine Pestell, Lillian Pestell and Pauline Pestell. Jo-Anne Hurst – of Newry, after a 4 1/2 year illness passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday October 8, 2016 at the age of 60. For many years Jo-Anne worked for Newry and Monkton Veterinary Services.  She then started her own secretarial services business with 22 years at Hutchinson Welding and 14 years at Maitland Terrace.  Jo-Anne’s commitment and gift to the work force was her compassion and love she extended to everyone she touched.

Beloved wife of Glen Hurst whom she married in 1974. Loving mother of Ann-Marie (Ken) Rehberg and Travis Hurst.  Special nana of Jocelyn who predeceased her in 2012 and Jordan Rehberg.  Dear sister of Gerard (Karenann) Herrgott, Donna Herrgott, Julie (Rick) Brubacher and sister-in-law of Lloyd (Mary Ann) Hurst.  Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael “Karl” Lang of Teeswater passed away suddenly at Wingham and District Hospital on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 in his 80th year.

Beloved husband of Lorna Lang (née Fischer).

Loving father of Gerard Lang (Lori) of Waterloo, Joanne Lang of Wingham, Stephen Lang of Waterloo and Michael Lang (Jodie) of Everett.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren who gave him great enjoyment, Ian Lang (Jayme Giesler), Anna Lang, Melissa Atkinson (Sarah Lyttle), Emily Atkinson (Frank Quatrini), Rebecca Atkinson, Zack Lang, Ryan Lang, Carli Lang, Sophia Lang, Jacob Lang and Megan Lang, he loved them dearly.

Dear brother of Shirley Anne Lang (late Harry Psutka) of Kitchener.

Fondly remembered by members of the Fischer family. Karl was very loved and admired by his numerous nieces and nephews.  He took great pleasure in the time they spent together.

Predeceased by his parents, Martin and Catherine (née Sullivan) Lang, infant daughter Valerie, brother Donald Lang and sister Adele Lang.

Karl was a dedicated truck driver for the Teeswater Creamery and GayLea for 40 years, served with the Teeswater-Culross Fire Department for 25 years and a municipal councillor for 13 years.

A casual visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., with Knights of Columbus Service at 8:30, followed by Vigil Prayers at 8:45. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Teeswater on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Father Michael Anderson as celebrant.
