Stone - croppedOn Sunday, May 26, 2013 peacefully at home in his sleep, Daniel Stone died at the age of 11. He was the most beloved special son of Jonathan and Sarah Stone (nee Gladdy) and loving brother of Alexander, Michael and Olivia. He was also the cherished grandson of Alexia Gladdy (Nanny Lex) and the late Percy Gladdy of Sarnia and Maureen Stone of Ottawa. Daniel will be profoundly missed by his aunts and uncles Jennifer Gladdy (Aunt Jenny), Rebecca Gladdy (Aunt Becca) and Geoffrey Gladdy, all of Toronto, and Matthew and Lee Ann Stone of Atlanta. As well, he was the special great-nephew of Maryanne Statton and Jack Yungblut of London and Frances and Gordon Eagleson of Sarnia. Also sharing our unbearable heartbreak is Pam Langstaff (Pammy), Daniel’s loving and devoted caregiver and friend. Although challenged by autism, Daniel taught all those around him the most valuable lessons in life — unconditional love, acceptance, humility, patience and perseverance. Daniel was always willing for “time to work” to try to overcome the obstacles he had been given in life. We are exceptionally proud of his unbreakable spirit and remarkable accomplishments. He had tremendous potential and learned many wonderful things, like reading and attending school. Daniel loved Indian Creek Road Public School and cherished the relationships that he developed there. Through his struggles, we gained strength as a family. We were all blessed to have had Daniel in our lives, if even for such a short time. His was the purest soul that God could ever create – unable to deceive or cause hurt to anyone. Our Daniel was louder than life and he has left ours now so terribly, terribly quiet. Every day, we will miss our little chef, his mischievous antics, his special speech and his beautiful face. We will choose to remember him happy and healthy in his most favourite place in the world – sitting on his Nanny’s beach, sunglasses on, with his beach toys spread around him, smiling in the sun. Cremation has taken place, with arrangements entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia. A memorial celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at the  John D. Bradley Convention Centre Ballroom, 565 Richmond Street, Chatham, on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Jonathan Daniel Stone Fund c/o Community Living Chatham-Kent, P.O.
