Stinchcombe (180x250)Stinchcombe, Violet Mabel of Valleyview Home, St Thomas passed away peacefully at her late residence on Monday, January 14th, 2013 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald F. Stinchcombe (1985) and loved mother of Lynda Darlene Stinchcombe of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Don (Marion) Fahner of London. Predeceased by her daughter, Wendy Ann (1964) and her siblings Ernie (Vera) Fahner, Dora (Lionel) Bolt of Port Stanley and Helen (Ed) Carson of Goderich. Dear aunt of Penny (Dave) Harding, Brian Bolt, the late Janice (John) Harris, David (Nancy) Fahner, Steven (Sharon) Fahner, Lynn Halonen, Doug Carson, Stephen Carson and the late Donna Carson. Violet was born in London, ON on April 5th, 1916, daughter of the late Ezra and Sarah (Dimmick) Fahner. She worked at the Bank of Montreal for 10 years and then worked 15 years as the secretary for First United Church. Violet was a member of First United Church, St. Thomas for over 60 years where she was life member of the U.C.W., taught Sunday school and led several youth groups. She was also involved in the Bridge Club, Valleyview Drop-In Centre, St. Thomas Seniors Centre and was actively involved in Square Dancing for over 25 years.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, ON where visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00am at First United Church, 7 Curtis St., St. Thomas, ON. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Easter Seals Foundation, Sunshine Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
