STEWART, Mabel Isabelle (KELLAR) – In her 90th year, Mabel Isabelle Stewart, wife of the late Robert (Bob) Thomas Stewart, passed away with her daughters by her side on February 1, 2013 at Specialty Care Home in Mississauga.  Mabel was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbour.  She loved her home on Carlton Avenue in Niagara Falls where she and Bob were anchors in their neighbourhood for nearly 60 years.  She participated in the family business, Stewart’s Groceteria on Barker Street for over 30 years and was a volunteer driver for children of the Rotary School for several years.  Mabel took up golf in the early 70s and enjoyed her hobby for many years, especially during snowbird days with Bob in Florida.

Mabel leaves her daughters Sandra (Bob) and Bobbi (Cameron); grandchildren Sandi (Wes), Robyn, Patrick (Lauren), Sylvia, Blaine and Keiran;  brother Bob (Anne); niece Joan (Symen), great-niece Karen, great nephew John (Monica), great-great-nieces Carlee, Devon and Hannah.  Mabel will also be missed by Bob’s family, including Art and Clara, Claude and Shirley, Joan and Ross, Dennis and Diane, their children and by Alan.  Mabel is also survived by her longest and dearest friends Dorothy and Freeman Eldridge of Barker Street, Helen Forbes in Chippawa and Ev Meldrum in Fort Erie.  Mabel was born October 29, 1923 in Deseronto, ON to Matilda Loreta (Wager) and John David Kellar.  She is predeceased by her parents (1981 and 1948), sisters Loreta (1924) and Bess (2008) and brother Jack (1996).  Sandra and Bobbi wish to thank the staff of Specialty Care in Mississauga for the wonderful care they have given to Mabel over the past few years.

Cremation has taken place.  Mabel’s family will receive family and friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls in the spring.  Date and time will be announced.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of your choice are welcomed and encouraged.
