Staton, Jacqueline webSTATON, Jacqueline Blanche Antoinette – Passed away suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2013, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Staton (June 28, 2011).  Dear mother of Erika (Jan) Jaluvka of Niagara Falls and Michael “Myke” (Beth) Staton of Ottawa. Loving grandmother of Tatjana Jaluvka of Niagara Falls and Stephanie, Zabrina and Zachary Staton of Ottawa.   Born and raised in Calais, France, Jacqueline endured and survived the hardships of occupied France in World War II. After the War, she made a new life for herself and her family in Niagara Falls and Ottawa where she taught French for many years. Proud of her French heritage, Jacqueline possessed a special joie de vivre.  She enjoyed a great love of cooking and had an encyclopedic knowledge of opera. Her wonderful sense of humour allowed her to see the funny side of any situation. She will be deeply missed.

Family will receive friends at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, on Wednesday December 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Private family service will be held on Thursday with interment at Fairview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or GNGH Foundation.
