Slumskie, FranFrances Elizabeth Slumskie of Chesley, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, one week after her beloved Ren, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Chesley on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in her 90th year.

Loving mother of Gail Fritsch and her husband George of R.R. #4 Chesley and Chuck Thomson and his wife Ruth of R.R. #1 Desboro. Cherished grandmother of  six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Fran will be fondly remembered by her sisters, Edith (Mick) McLeod of Edmonton, AB., Edna (Harold) Kramp of Chilliwack, B.C., Dorothy (Reg) Krueger of Wiarton and Norma Jean (Ross) Hammond of Chesley. She will be sadly missed by Ren’s children, Diane (David) Gribble of Kincardine, Judy (Dale) Cutting of Waterloo, Richard (Nancy) Slumskie, Tom (Dianne) Slumskie, all of R.R. #2 Dobbinton and their families. Fran was predeceased by her first husband, John W.  Thomson, second husband Rendall Slumskie and her parents Edmund and Jennie (McDonald) Smith.

Visitation will be held at Rhody Family Funeral Home, Chesley on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Fran’s life will be held at St. John’s United Church, Chesley on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. Spring interment in Chesley Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
