Mrs. Tilly Simmons, a resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Bluewater Health, in Sarnia, at the age of 84 years.  She was born in The Netherlands and was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Van Damme) Crombeen.  Beloved wife of the late Jim Simmons. (2002).  Loving mother of Judy (Bob) Sheppard, Mary Lou Bishop, Barb (George) Gammon, Frank Bishop, Tom Bishop, Patsy Lane(Paul) and Harold (Lori) Bishop.  Sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.  Kind sister and sister-in-law of Emiel Crombeen, Bob (Geraldine) Crombeen, Margaret (Harold) Trepanier, Al Crombeen, Ben (Carol) Crombeen, Marie Ysebaert, Chris Jongerius, William Vink Sr., Jean Crombeen and Marlene Crombeen.  Sadly missed by many, many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by a great granddaughter Baby Grace, her brothers Joseph, Peter, Frank and Theo “Ted“, her sisters Julia Jongerius and Annie Vink and a special family friend Sis Bishop.  Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, January 29,  2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, in Wallaceburg, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the mass from 10-11 from the church, Fr. Greg Bonin, Celebrant.Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care or St. Joseph’s Hospice, in Sarnia may be left at the funeral home.Online condolences may be left at www.ericfnichollsfuneralhome.com.  As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Tilly Simmons.
