SIMARD, Maurice J, 81 of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Bluewater Health.  Maurice was born to loving parents Fred and Alda Simard in Sudbury, ON. Married 58 years to loving wife and best friend Germaine F. Simard (Richer) on July 24, 1954, in Sarnia. Loving father to Marc Maurice Simard and his wife Cheryl L. Miller-Simard. Grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters Brittany Marie Simard and Brianna Justine Simard. Dear brother to Leo Simard, Marielle Parsons, Lorraine and her husband Ernie Parker, Claudette Riopelle, the late Yvette Collier and the late Roger Simard. Dear friend to many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Maurice spent 42 years of his career with Mueller Brass Canada, working in both Sarnia and Guelph. He was very active as a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus and Sarnia Hatcheries. He was an avid golfer for over 70 years (despite his score). In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing his guitar and piano. He will be sadly missed.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 30, 2012, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at St. Thomas D’Aquin, 895 Champlain Rd., Sarnia. Cremation to follow.
