SHRUMM, Leonard Golderic  ~ Age 94, died peacefully at Bluewater Health on Friday, March 23, 2012.  Cherished husband of the late Marion Shrumm (2007) to whom he was married on June 21st, 1948. Loving father of John (Valerie), Bob (Carol) and Gary (Janet), all of Sarnia.  Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Jennifer (Todd) Sloan of Aurora, Matt (Heather) Shrumm of Forest, Captain Derek Shrumm of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Holly Shrumm (fiancé Harry Jonas) of Kota Kinabalu,  Malaysia.  Great-grandfather of Ethan Sloan and Autumn Shrumm.  Survived by sister Betty (Glen) Haggitt of Florida. Predeceased by his older brother Art.  Len will be missed by his “card friends” at Landmark Village.
For many years, Len owned and operated a barber shop on Christina Street.  He eventually retired from The Bluewater Bridge Authority at age 65.  He served in the Merchant Marines and Royal Canadian Navy during WWII.  He enjoyed gardening, cooking, cycling and walking, and was very proud that he could still fit into the suit in which he was married.  Heartfelt thanks is extended to the nursing staff, Dr. Greensmith, Dr. Singh and Dr. Maddison for the care of our father.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, with family and friends being received one hour prior to the service.  Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to either the Alzheimer Society or Bluewater Health Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).  Memories and condolences may be sent online at
