83, of Montreal, Quebec, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, at his new residence in Spencerville, Ontario on August 4th, 2014.

Gordie was husband, best friend and soul-mate to his beloved wife Anne, (Chadwick), best father ever to his two daughters Joanne and Debbie, (Mullaly) and proud grandfather to Kevin and Colin.

Salesman, business owner, (YMAC Agencies), entrepreneur, past president of the Kinsmen Club N.D.G., Councilor for the Town of Hudson, (16 years), “King” of all sports and most importantly, “Hero” to his family.

Gordon will be sadly missed, an insurmountable loss for family and friends but a priceless gain for heaven.

Passed away at the Sherwood Park Manor in Brockville on Saturday July 12th, 2014.  Eleanor (Jones) Johnston aged 93 years.  Beloved wife of the late Ben Johnston.  She will be greatly missed by her sisters Phyllis White and Kathleen Young, many nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by parents Harry and Phoebe (Isherwood) Jones, sister Phoebe (George), brothers Harry (Dot), Jim (Louise), Wilfred (Joan), Alfred (Rose), brother-in-laws Rod and Bert.  We would like to give many thanks to the great staff and doctors at Sherwood Park Manor for the excellent care they gave to Eleanor.

Loving mother of Jean Légère (France Poliseno). Cherished grandmother of Gabrielle Légère (Justin DeWilde) and Francis Légère. Beloved daughter of the late Martin Légère and Lydia Haché. Dear sister of the late Alphonsine (Victor Chiasson), the late Mederic Légère (Nancy Smith), Marguerite (André Cayer), Gildard Légère (Barbara DesJardins), Albertine Légère, Romuald Légère (Laurette Jalbert), Real Légère (Jeannine Gray), and Raymonde (Alphonse Cormier). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Marie had a long career, practicing nursing and teaching in Montreal and Sherbrooke, Quebec.  Cremation has taken place. Stewart, TomSTEWART, Thomas Russel “Tom” – Passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in his 81st year, after attending a retirement party near Milton, ON.  During his years as a long distance truck driver, Tom acquired many, many friends and acquaintances all over North America.  He was the last surviving member of his family.  Tom was an avid collector of everything old, odd and unique.  Cars, trucks,  tractors, toys and various other items of interest to many.  As a known authority on vintage autos, and a member of almost every vintage collectable club, he was often asked to provide information to hobbyists with similar interests.  For more than 50 years, Tom’s red, 1909 Ford Model “T” was a familiar sight in Woodstock’s Victoria Day parade. Friends will be received at Old St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 723 Dundas Street, Woodstock on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m.  A complete funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Archdeacon Richard A. Born in Belleville, Ontario on May 12th, 1921. Died May 6th, 2014 at The Northumberlad Hills Hospital, Cobourg, Ontario. Beloved husband and best friend of Claire (nee Wheeler) for 48 years. Cherished father of Sandy and his wife Kim of Palgrave, Ontario and David and his family of Calgary, Alberta. Loving grandfather of Justin Mowat of Palgrave and Courtney and, Mellissa Mowat of Calgary. Brother of Rosemary Mowat of Barrie, and John and his wife Dianne of Cobourg. Special uncle to Brian, Jeff, and Matthew Mowat. Predeceased by his parents Angus and Helen Mowat and by his first wife Frances Thornhill.
Farley Mowat was a member of the Order of Canada and the recipient of nine Honorary Doctorates. He was the author of 42 books, a writing career that spanned 63 years. His books are read around the world and have been translated into 26 languages. He will be greatly missed by his family and by many friends in many places.
A private family funeral will be held in Port Hope on a later date.
Donations in Farley’s memory may be made to any charity dedicated to helping animals or saving our environment.

Predeased by her husband Vince. Lovingly remembered by her sister Grace (Bill) Mooney of Chilliwack, B.C. Much beloved aunt to Jim, Pete, Judy, Bill, Sherry, Faye, Art, Shirley, Brad and Verlie. She was adored and will be missed by many great-nieces and nephews. Jean lived most of her life in Colborne, ON and served many years as the Post Mistress for that area. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, November 24, 2013, WILLIAM ALFRED DEMPSEY, age 86 of Sarnia passed away.Beloved husband of Marie Paule Angeline Dempsey (nee Boulanger) . Loving father of Bonnie Duquette and her husband Maurice of Wallaceburg and Cathy Mathany and her husband Michael of Chatham and stepfather of Donald Cote and Darquise Cote. Also survived by his sister Mabel Whitbread of Windsor and nieces Heather and Kerrie. Cherished grandfather of Randy Duquette, Ann Marie Vancoille, Clarke Mathany, Ashley Rivard, Ian Mathany, Bryan Thrower, Dennis Purdon several great -grandchildren. Will also be missed by his extended family in Quebec. William retired from Polysar, enjoyed bowling and his sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place.
