SHAW- Picture CroppedPassed away peacefully at his home Sunday, July 13, 2014, as was his wish. Born August 31, 1921 to Gladys and Charlie Shaw. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Islay Shaw(Smith) and children Anne Bunda (Chas) and Bob Shaw (Karlene). Also survived by grandchildren Geoff (Erin), Paul (Amy), Heather (Chris), Stephen (Courtney) and Tim (Lauren) as well as great grandchildren Jayla, Dylan, Adam, Ryder and Clarkson.He was predeceased by a sister Margaret Aherne. Don was an avid farmer on Baseline Road in Tupperville before settling on a farm on London Road. He retired from Ethyl in 1976 and Petrosar in 1980 when the farm was sold and they moved to Sarnia. He was a very devoted husband and father who talked fondly of Tupperville, loved swimming in the Sydenham River and walking to Wallaceburg to the dances. He loved swimming, boating and riding his bicycle. He was a kind man with a quick wit and sense of humour and would drive anywhere and everywhere anytime. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Joseph’s Hospice, Canadian Diabetes Association or London Road West Memorial Fund (cheques only at the funeral home please).
