Wolfgang, the only child of Elli and Peter Schulze was born in Berlin (later West Berlin). After completing the Auto Body Apprenticeship, he immigrated to Canada on his own at the age of 18. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, he soon purchased his own Auto Body shop in Mimico. He and his family moved to WasagaBeach in 1974 and purchased The Monaco (motel, gas station and restaurant) on Mosley St. Later, while operating several other businesses, he began studying towards his Real Estate licence. His experience as a broker for Langevin Real Estate in WasagaBeach was a highlight of his career.
After meeting Jean, he moved to Barrie in 1992 where they made their home. He continued in real estate in Barrie until his retirement in 2009. During golfing season, Springwater Golf Course was his “home away from home”. Another favourite pastime was fishing, especially on the FrenchRiver.
A Celebration of Wolfgang’s life will be held at Woods Park Care Centre, 110 Lillian Cres.Barrie in the community room on Sat. March 1st at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to RVH Cancer/Palliative Care Unit www.rvh.on.ca or Hospice Simcoe www.hospicesimcoe.ca would be appreciated by the family.
