SCHOOLEY, Carl W.
Passed away at the age of 89 on July 15, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Matilda “Tillie” (nee Super) for 67 years. Loving father to Robert & wife Lily of Kingsville, Carolyn Donnelly & husband Neil of Kingston, Susan Nairn & fiancé Joe Serapiglia, Andrew & wife Dawn all of Windsor. Dear grandfather of Stephanie, Britt, Catherine, Sarah, Tom, Lindsey, Brian, Kristie, Brett, Lauren and Emma. Dear great grandfather of Kasey, Noah & Clare, Lucas & Emily, Bradley & Emily. Also survived by his sister Ethel Holden & husband Alvin of Clearwater, FL and sisters-in-law Frances O’Rourke of Walnut Creek, CA and Eleanor Schooley of Perth. Predeceased by his parents John W. Schooley (1977) and Grace (nee Ruston) (1988), his brother Monroe (2007), sister Elsie Phillips (1987) & husband Melbourne (1996), and brother Donald (1934). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Carl retired from Chrysler Canada in 1984 from a management position after 43 years of service that included five years with the Engineering Office of the Parent Corporation in Highland Park, MI. In recent years, Carl has been a member of Glenwood United Church. He was from his youth, a member of Giles Blvd United Church until it’s closing in 1987 when the Giles congregation moved to Central United Church. When at Central, he continued his faithful service to the church serving as Finance Chairman for 10 years and a Church Trustee for 15 years. He was also an active member and a Past President of the Roseland Golden K Kiwanis Club. He has also served on the Board of CLAS (Southwinds) for a number of years. A special thank you for all the high level of care and support provided throughout Carl’s journey, in particular to CCAC (Naomi Pengelly), Seasons Royal Oak Village (Brenda D’Alimonte) and to the staff of Hospice Residential Home. If you so desire, donations to the Hospice Residential Home would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Cremation to follow.
