It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Luanne Scherer (Wharram) at 63 years of age. Beloved wife and childhood sweetheart of Ed Scherer for almost 50 years. Loving and cherished mom to Heidi Scherer Bell and Nikki Lahoud (Craig). Proud and devoted grandma of Addie and Easton. Lovingly received into the arms of her dear parents, Harry and Elva Wharram (2009). Dear sister of Roger Wharram (Glenda). Dear sister-in-law of Peter Scherer (Linda) and Ingrid Mayer (John). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Luanne was utterly devoted to her family and grandchildren. She spent many hours playing hide and go seek, at the park, and making their favourite chili, chicken noodle soup and palachinka with sprinkles. She will be fiercely missed by her camping crew. Luanne retired in 2010 and was a proud work “momma” to many at the former Leamington Police Department. Luanne will always be remembered for her amazing pies, twinkling eyes and selfless heart. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing EMS family, especially Dave and Deb, Kingsville Fire Department, ER, ICU staff at Leamington Hospital and WRH Ouellette Campus for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Wednesday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made by cheque to Anita Betterley In Trust for Ronny George Betterley or Erie Shores Hospice.
