SAGER, Fred (Sach) – His Lord called him home on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in his 85th year, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Survived by wife Bette, son Dan (Sheri), daughter Deborah (Paul) Hodges, grandchildren Eric (Amy), Laura, Stephen (Tori), Kevin (Sarah), Nick Hodges, Kris Hodges (Stacy), Melynda (Chris) Broadbent, Philip (Lisa), 3 great grandsons Michel, Lucas and Daniel, siblings Mildred Koerner, Gladys (Rom) Gasparri, Marion (Gord) Allan, Richard (Pat), Gloria Trombley, Jim (Jen), Carl (Erica), Cathy (Bill) Brocklin, Terry (Laurie), Susan (Ernie) Morris , Royce, Karen (Pete) Bredin, brothers-in-law Bob Ewin (Vi), Jack (Inga) Ewin and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Dail, parents Fred and Laura, siblings; Helen, Lydie, Harry, Jerry, John. Fred was a resident of Fort Erie for 29 years and Niagara Falls for 29 years. He drove transport for Direct and Motorways for 34 years.
The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12- 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in May 2013 at WhitestoneCemetery, Whitestone, ON. In lieu of flowers donations to either Salvation Army, Prostate Cancer or Terry Fox Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
