Grandma at wedding

Passed away peacefully on Thursday November 21st at the Grace Manor, Ottawa, in her 95th year.
Louise was born on 12 May 1918 in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was the third daughter of Lowell “Clem” Sheibley and Helena Wiekamp. She and her sisters, Marna and Dorotha, grew up during the great depression and Louise was the only sister to graduate from High School in 1936. Louise was gifted with a beautiful voice. She participated in many choirs and all her life loved to sing. After high school she went to work for Indiana Bell Telephone Co., as an operator and then a supervisor. Louise was married to William Rosewarne Miller on 30 Nov 1944 in South Bend, Indiana. William was an officer in the United States Marine Corp. After the war Louise and William settled in Milton, Vermont. They had four daughters, Mary Louise , Margaret Ann, Cathleen Sheibley and Ann Elizabeth. In 1961 the Millers immigrated to Canada and lived in Aurora Ontario, Winnipeg Manitoba, finally settling in Manotick, Ontario, Louise was an avid seamstress and became an expert porcelain doll artisan. She worked as a librarian at the Public Library in Manotick and she was a key figure in the fundraising efforts for the new Manotick Public Library. During her life time she became a grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1989. She is survived by four half brothers, John, Bill, Philip and Paul Deethardt, all of whom reside in the United States. She is also survived by daughters Mary Louise Smith (Fred), Margaret Miller (John Martyn), Cathleen Kalin (Neil) and Ann Hutchings (Brad). Her loving grandchildren, Marna ,Karan (Mario Carlucci), and Mary Jean Smith (Kate Soles), Sarah, Matthew (Kristen), Andrew (Alana) Landry , Alana Vaughan (Nick Olmstead), Josh (Amy), Rachel and Wade Kalin , as well as her great-grand children, Josephina, Andrea and Bianca Carlucci , Eliot Smith, Jonah and Elodie Bonhomme, Julia, Addison and Charlotte Kalin, Helena, Sydney and Cameron Vaughan. A memorial service will be held at The Whelan Funeral Home, 515 Cooper St on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11AM. Interment will follow in the summer of 2014 at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Indiana.
