Peacefully in her sleep at Marshall Gowland Manor on Thursday, January 9, 2014, Thelma Viola Jean (Hartley) Ross passed away at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Russell Clair Ross Sr. Cherished mother of Clair Ross (the late Maxine) and Ann Hurtato of Connecticut. Loving grandmother of Michael and Michelle Ross of Sarnia. Great-grandmother of Aaylea, Kailey, and the late Ashley (2013). Great-great-grandmother of four. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her sister Clara, Gert and brother Bob (Marie). Predeceased by her brothers Jack and Bill, and by her sisters Margaret and Marie. Thelma was a lifetime “lady train man” with CN Rail. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a lodge member and avid Bingo fan. A special thank you to the staff of Marshall Gowland Manor for their wonderful care, compassion and friendship that was given to Thelma over the years. Thelma will be forever missed by her son Clair who loved taking care of his mother every day. She is now reunited with her best friend and husband Russell, and heaven’s newest angel, great-granddaughter Ashley. A private family graveside will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.
