ROGERS: Carolyn Joyce of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Sarnia
Joyce passed peacefully at Bluewater Health Palliative Care surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 75. She went home to be with her God and her husband William Ray Rogers (December 27, 1933 to August 26, 2008). Devoted mother of Stephanie Anne Rogers, Janice Rose Rogers-Feather and Vicky (Tim) Barnier. Doting Gramma to Jillian, Jacob and Abigail. Joyce was born at Aamjiwnaang to Clarence Francis Williams and Ada (Maness) Williams. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Jackie Colagouri of Toronto, Muriel Josephine Rogers of Aamjiwnaang and many cherished relatives, nieces and nephews at The Kettle Point First Nation, The Stony Point First Nation, The Walpole Island First Nation and throughout the United States and Canada. An open visitation and wake services will take place at the St. Clair United Church, 984 Tashmoo Avenue, Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Sarnia, ON, from 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013 and 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013. A funeral service will take place at St. Clair United Church, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Bluewater Health for the kind and wonderful care Joyce was given. A special thank you is extended to Dr. M. Dostaler, the CCAC Palliative Care Consultation Team and Diane Maguire, VHA Home Healthcare.
