Robins, Opal webROBINS Opal Holland (Holly) R.N. (retired). Best friend and wife of Raymond (Ray). She was born July 17, 1929 in Waterville, Nova Scotia. She passed away peacefully at the Salvation Army Eventide Home on Sunday November 10, 2013  at the age of 84.

Survived by daughter Kathryn Lynch  (David), and sons Paul Robins (Barbara Yeats), Michael Robins (Roseanna Cunningham). She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Vicki Nicholson, Kyle Lynch, Robin Lynch, Shaun Robins and her brother Dean Salsman (Evelyn), of Halifax, Nova Scotia and sister-in-law Elsie Robins (Gerald) of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by parents Richard and Rosa Salsman, one brother Kenneth Salsman (Dorothy) and four sisters Vera Roop (Leslie), Nellie Langille (Douglas), Ida Flynn ( Alexander), Joyce Best all of Nova Scotia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the Maritimes, Texas, California, Ontario, Alberta and Abu Dubai.

Opal will be sadly missed by her many friends and neighbours in Pine Meadows condominiums. Opal was a graduate of the School of Nursing in New Glasgow Nova Scotia and nursed in Amherst N.S., Boston, Mass., Windsor, ON and Detroit Michigan before joining the staff at Niagara Falls General Hospital on Jepson Street. Opal retired from nursing at GNGH in 1979 and spent many happy years caring for her family.

Mrs. Robins is at the Morse & Son Funeral home 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, ON. Family and friends will be received  Monday November 18, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Opal’s (Holly) life will be held at Stamford United Church 3855 St. Peter St, Niagara Falls, ON  Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 12 noon. Reception to follow at the Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hon. Ray and Helen Lawson Eventide Home or The Linhaven Adams Complex would be greatly appreciated.
