Robbins, Beatrice Viola of St. Thomas, passed away on Thursday, May 17th, 2012, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of 70 years of the late Marwood Robbins, she was born May 19th, 1914, the daughter of the late George M. Carr and Caroline (Carroll) Carr of North Yarmouth. Cherished mother of Rowena Spersrud (Dale) of Port Stanley, grandmother of Angela Moore of Port Stanley and Mark Moore (Nicolle) of Chamcook, N.B. and great grandmother of Mackenzie and Powell Moore, N.B. Special aunt to Norman Robbins (Joan) of Caseville, Mich. And many other caring nieces and nephews. Beatrice is also survived by her sister Ruby (William Carmichael), Tillsonburg. Her twin sister Bertha Duke, 2 sisters Margaret Giles and Florence Haines and a brother Victor Carr predeceased her. Beatrice was a member of the Iona United Church, where she was president and leader of the choir, Sunday School teacher for 28 years, was well as superintendant. She was also a member of the U.C.W. Later she attended the Iona Station Baptist Church. She was a member present of theS.S.#10 Southwold Home and School Assoc., member and President of the Ladies Division of the Shedden Agricultural Society and member of the Iona Community.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
