Roach, Ward Chapman (Bud)

90 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. Late of Leamington. Beloved husband of Effie (Bowman) for 66 years. Loving father of Cathy Neroda and husband Bob, Wheatley; Pat Ivy, Windsor. Adored grampie of Melissa (Nelson Carvalho), Jeremy Smith, Shane Ivy, Jared Ivy, and proud great grampie of Shauna, Matthew, Saidi and Ava. Dear brother of Bill Roach (Marlene), the late Robert (Doreen), the late Marjorie MacVicar (late Arnold). Dear brother-in-law of Lee Bowman (Janet) and his extended Bowman family. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Bud was a proud WWII Veteran with the R.A.F. enlisting in 1939. During his service Bud was a P.O.W. in Germany for nearly 3 years. With this experience Bud was one of the founding members of the P.O.W. Association of Canada. Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 84, Leamington. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Bud’s life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Tilbury to follow. As of expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
