RIEGER, Mrs. Edna (nee White), formerly of R.R.1, Port Stanley, passed away peacefully at her residence, the Elgin Manor, R.R.1, St. Thomas on Saturday, February 25, 2017, in her 100th year.  Beloved wife of the late Carl Rieger (1992).  Dearly loved mother of Ross Rieger (Carole), Blake Rieger (Carol), Ray Rieger (Linda), all of R.R.1, Port Stanley, and Sally Butcher (Michael) of London.  Cherished grandmother of Sandra, Steven, Brian, Craig, Tracy, Terri, Karen, and Samantha.  She was proud of her many great grandchildren.  Dear sister of Jean Eglin (late Paul) of Ohio, Max White (late Margaret) of R.R.7, St. Thomas, late James White (Sheila of Tillsonburg), late Maggie Adams (late Cecil), and the late (infant) Erma Pearline White.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.  Born on Pelee Island, ON, November 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lillie (nee Feltz) White.  Edna came to R.R.1, Port Stanley from Pelee Island in 1953.  She was a member of the former Fingal United Church, and a former member of the Golden Age Club, Shedden.  A private family funeral service was held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Tuesday, February 28th.  Private interment in Hunter Cemetery, Southwold Twp. at a later date.  Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
