RichardsonHarveywebWith heavy hearts, we announce that God has called HARVEY ARTHUR RICHARDSON home on Thursday, January 3, 2013 in his 90th year, in Brantford, Ontario.  Predeceased by his wife— Helen Jean (Steadman-Pollard) Richardson – 1992, and his wife Janet Angel (Fulton) Hibberd – 2012.  Harvey was the cherished father of Paul (Alex) and of Anne Marie (Frank) Van Heck, and grandfather of Oliver and Harriet Richardson and of Spencer, Dustin, and Dylan Van Heck; and stepfather of Judith (Alan) Tuck, Andrew (Yuka) Hibberd, Laura Stark, and Ken (Francesca) Hibberd and many step-grandchildren.  Harvey was a founding and long-standing member of St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Sarnia.  He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, and was employed by Dow Chemical Canada (Modeland Road) in Sarnia for 33 years.  His leisure time was spent at the family cottage on the shores of Lake Huron at Port Albert, Ontario.  He was a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels and donated generously of his time to teaching literacy and numeracy to new immigrants to Canada.  Harvey was a gentle man and one of nature’s true gentlemen and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Church, 718 Cathcart Blvd. (At Colborne Rd.),  Sarnia, Ontario where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia, Ontario.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations by cheque to Prostate Cancer Canada (www.prostatecancer.ca), Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca), or to the Church of Saint Bartholomew would be appreciated.   Memories, pictures, and condolences may be shared online at www.needhamjay.com
