RICHARDS: Shauna Leigh (Shaunski) of Winnipeg Formerly of Courtenay and Kelowna
Richards, Shauna Leigh Oct 2, 1977 – Dec 18, 2016 There are no words to express our shock and sorrow with the sudden passing of our beautiful, spirited, loving Shauna, who died in Winnipeg, at the age of 39. Grandpa’s “little Toad” was called home to the open, loving arms of her family in heaven. Shauna was born in Ladysmith, BC In 1977. Her short life took her on a journey through Nanaimo, Nimpkish, Vernon Camp, Woss, Port McNeill, Courtenay, Westbank, Kelowna, and finally Winnipeg. The fuel in your engine, the Baileys in your coffee, the spark to ignite fireworks, and a trigger for an hysterical belly laugh are only a few analogies to describe Shauna! Always searching to fill a void, Shauna became lost after the death of her dad in 1994, and now she is found. She was known to pedal the Winnipeg streets on her mountain bike; her tiny dog, “Ruff”, tucked close to her body, hair flying in the wind like her dad, Brian, on his Harley! Be together finally and entertain in heaven! Shauna was predeceased by her dad, Brian,, sister Kelly, grandparents Anne and Sanford Garrah, and Jean and Ken Richards. A colourful journey, on sometimes bumpy roads, was Shauna’s path to eternity. She leaves behind her mom, Sharon, siblings Mike McNulty, Shannon (Clint) Cadwallader, Matt (Carly) Richards, partner Shaun, and stepson Marcus. Also mourning her passing aunts and uncles Judy (Wayne), Chris (Marcie) and cousins Patrick (Barb), Terry (Heather), Morgan, and Darcy (Catherine) and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Shauna will be buried close to her dad in the Port McNeill cemetery at a later date. Donations in Shauna’s name, to SPCA or Canadian Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated. Love you forever and ever “Our beautiful little Toad”. Picture can be viewed at Campbell River Mirror online.
