It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wanda on Wednesday October 24th, 2012 at Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital in London.  Devoted wife to the late Jack Rich of Dresden. Born on January 16th, 1946 in Falinbostel, Germany to loving parents Kay Robor and the late Michael Robor of Wyoming. Wanda will be dearly missed by her children John Rich and his wife Tara Somerville of Southampton, Jarvis Rich of Chatham, and Judy Rich of London. Adored by her grandchildren Leif, Hiatt and Eian Rich of Southampton and Jack and Lia Rich of Chatham. Dear sister to Geni Picazo of Calgary, and Liz Wagner and her husband Kevin Wagner of Guelph. Wanda will be sadly missed by her nephew Matt Wagner of Cambridge, niece Alexis Wagner of Guelph, Ambar and Maia Picazo both of Oakville and Alheli Picazo of Calgary. Wanda will also be affectionately remembered by Art Rich of Chatham, Rose Ann Rich of Dresden, Jim and Marie Rich of Wallaceburg, Joe and Heather Rich of Dresden and her many nieces and nephews from the Rich family. Wanda immigrated to Canada on Christmas Eve, 1949 and was proud to be a Canadian Citizen. Wanda was a graduate of London Teacher’s College and initially with the Lambton County School Board and the Dresden Raceway. She then changed gears and moved to employment with Union Gas Limited where she developed a huge network of wonderful friends who kept her busy with numerous book clubs, coffee groups, dinner clubs and activities with the Golden Genies. Although a member of the Chatham community, Wanda was an active member of the Dresden Community Church. She was devoted to her family; a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She endeared herself to all with her many gifts: her quick wit, her famous sense of humour, her unwavering positive attitude, her kindness, cheerfulness and thoughtfulness, and with giving priority to friendship. Wanda loved reading, music, fine food, cooking, parties, people, and life in general. Wanda received outstanding care from all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the University Hospital in London. Through her treatment and the end-of-life: they treated her and her family with understanding and consideration. At Wanda’s request cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Friday October 26th visiting from and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday October 27th visiting from 12 to 2 p.m.  A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday 27th at 2:00 p.m. In memory of Wanda a donation may be made to the Dresden Community Church.
