REID, Milford Albert of Cobourg, Ontario

With heavy hearts and great sorrow, we are saddened to announce the passing of a great man on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg.  Milf or “Ma Reid” (as he was affectionately called by many) will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him.  Milf was the son of Louis Reid and Mary Winstanley (Deceased) and was a self-taught, well read and travelled man.  He went to work at GM on the “Boys Line” when he was 15 and stayed for 32 years in various capacities.  This country boy always wanted to go north. He retired at his favorite place, Huntsville, in the 80’s, where he carved out his little piece of paradise.   He loved to drive a truck.  He drove a scrap truck for GM and a school bus for the Muskoka region. He was a handyman extraordinaire. You could always go to Milf and he would tell you or teach you how to do it.

Milford is mourned by his beloved wife and friend of many years, Doreen “Shirley” Dynes.  He is survived by his children David (Susan), Daniel (Lorelei), Lori (Bill), Greg (Glenda), Gary (Rhonda), Debbie (George), Pam, Tony (Linda), Fred (Dorothy), Karen Denise (Louis), Carolyn (Jamie) grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Milford will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 1   p.m. at 777 Greenbriar Dr. Oshawa.  Donations in Milford’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.

As per Milford’s request, there will be no service.
